I'm 22 years old with a big interest in pursuing a career within the radio industry. I have been driving for just over 5 years. I visit the gym 5 days a week, really enjoy gardening, socialising and here's just a random ambition of mine, one day, I'd like to restore a classic Mini.

What's Next?

In June, I'm heading to Dubai to work for Gulf News, Radio 1 and 2, to add to my radio work experience. This is an opportunity that I secured through networking on Twitter. I am funding this through my supermarket job and with some help from the University of Northampton's Vice Chancellors Fund award.

My industry experience

I initially began my career in Hospital Radio, building upon my presenting skills. This then progressed to a voluntary position with Northampton's community radio station, Inspirtion FM, where I worked 12 hours a week as a Broadcast Researcher. In this time, I created 7 feature packages, a number of voxes and arranged and presented live and pre-recorded interviews. I was also a presenter on the weekly Friday drive-time show, The Student Show. From this experience I had a 3-part feature broadcast on BBC Radio Northampton.

I then achieved one-week of work experience within that BBC Local Station, where I learned how to use the essential software, helped production control by answering the phones and created 3 voxes for broadcast.

I have recorded 4 news bulletins for 3 commercial radio stations covering parts of Tenerife, the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria and La Palma, which I achieved by putting myself out there and creating this website.

I have also produced more for BBC Radio Northampton since finishing my degree. 

Additional

In addition, I am also familiar with marketing, PR and sub-editing for print and online magazines. I am however, also really keen to get into voiceover work too.
